Two worlds, one idea
Our wines bridge two worlds — for natural wine lovers who crave unfiltered energy, and for those who appreciate precision and terroir. It’s this balance between freedom and form where we feel at home.
In the vineyard
Between science and intuition
Elena once wanted to go woofing on a biodynamic farm in the UK. Paul called it hocus pocus — and it led to our only real fight. Years later, Paul secretly joined a Demeter basics course — and Elena couldn’t stop laughing when she found out. But what he heard there made sense: observation, timing, and respect for life. Today, our winery stands between organics and biodynamics — grounded in both science and intuition.
In the cellar
In the cellar, we carry our respect for nature into every step, following a philosophy of low intervention.
37 additives are not used...
We make wines with origin — honest, pure, and clean. Funk is welcome; faults are not. Harvest timing, indigenous yeasts, and careful lees aging bring freshness, texture, and longevity, letting each wine fully express its character.
Two villages
So close and so different.
Königsbrunn am Wagram
More personal story!
Königsbrunn sits around 230 m above sea level on deep, humus-rich loess soils. This fertile ground gives the wines a generous, structured character with a fine, creamy texture. The vigorous vines thrive here, though careful canopy management is needed to maintain balance. The village feels open yet tucked away, with the Danube hidden behind its riverside forest. Königsbrunn’s vineyards produce expressive Grüner and Roter Veltliner that reflect this unique terroir.
Ruppersthal
More personal story!
Just six kilometers away, Ruppersthal feels like a world of its own. Vineyards climb to 300 m on stony, shallow soils dotted with gravel, producing small, concentrated berries that give the wines tension and mineral depth. The higher altitude shields the area from late frosts, while crisp air and a longer growing season allow the wines to develop precision and vibrancy. Winters bring snow, and the hilly terrain demands careful work, but the result is unmistakable: Grüner and Roter Veltliner with energy, clarity, and a character all their own.
Where our Vineyards are heading.
When Elena can't be in New Zealand, we can at least bring some Kune Kune pigs from there in our vineyards. We are planning to make a biodiversity island with cooparation partners...
